Pingxiang Plant was built in 2002 for demonstration and development of BGES. It sits on a 20 ha site consisting a R&D center, fabrication workshop, administration building with training & hostel facilities, a fully equipped rice mill and a complete range of biomass gasification and power generation facilities.

The Pingxiang BGES has continuously provided electricity to the rice mill and offices since 2003 and become a showcase to the public. The success of the plant is a proven track record of Peako BGES in respect of environmental friendliness, reliability and economic viability.

Unusual winter storms had plagued southern China for more than a month in early 2008, leading to widespread blackouts, traffic jams, structural collapses and crop losses in 19 provinces affecting 100 million people. Pingxiang City, where Peako demonstration plant situates, also suffered power blackout and water shortage for nearly two weeks.

The City Government requested Peako to operate the rice mill throughout the blackout period to ensure stable rice supply to the general public. Peako BGES generated power to run the rice mill totally independently without any outside power and water supply during the whole blackout period. This is irony proof of Peako BGES outstanding reliability and performance and a great achievement of standalone biomass power generation.
